Time goes by so strangely...

Time goes by so strangely. Yesterday, sunday the 27th, was only 7 days after I've quit my job at the rental videostore, yet it seems like if it's been 2 weeks. I guess I feel free,  I usually wake up around 6 a.m and I do whatever I want, trying to enjoy every moment. When I was working time was passing by so slow, but another kind of slowness, not pleasant. it's been 2 weeks since I began eating again, and gained 7 pounds during those 14 days ! Before that, I was on a 1 month liquid diet, during which I lost 15 pounds (10 of those during the first week). Basically, I can only gain half the speed what I can lose. These days, it's not exactly like if I'm eating as much as I can, but as much as I want, and what I want. Which is a lot, and many junk foods, but also some veggies, green salads and fruits. Journal of that liquid diet.

My Vegan Fetish Foods !

Here's my list of vegan  ingredients, whole foods and particular brands of food products that I love to buy.   I don't cook that much, but when I cook, here's almost all of the most common ingredients that vegan recipes call for, at least for baking goods such as cookies and cakes, but also for most pasta sauces, salad dressings, etc. No different from omni cooking, which always call for eggs, butter and milk.  We see those listed all the time, so people think that those products are necessary to baking and that it's impossible to do without them. Just use vegan margarine instead, soy milk (or other alternatives) and baking soda/egg replacer. Those are the 3 most common ingredients we see listed in vegan recipes.  I try to always buy whole foods instead of powders, supplements and processed stuff, and very important: organic, but sometimes it's too expensive. Some foods though are almost the same price than non-organic, those I always buy organic and write organic here.  For Recipes --  Organic stone ground whole wheat flour - other organic flours (buckwheat, oat, corn, rye...) - Wholesome Sweeteners organic fairtrade dark brown sugar, superfine icing sugar (look for sugar cane not filtered through bone char, or sugar from beets), organic amber maple syrup, organic raw agave nectar, organic unsulphured blackstrap molasses (eventhough we should stay away from molasses, it's a highly processed product of cane sugar), liquid stevia, egg replacer, non-aluminium baking powder, baking soda,  A. Vogel Herbamare organic aromatised sea salt, plain soy milk (organic brands: Natur-a, Silk, So Delicious!) or soy milk powder (and other milk alternatives : almond, hemp, rice), organic - firm or silken tofu, RedStar nutritional yeast flakes, arrow-root, agar-agar, corn or tapioca starch, pure vanilla extract, semi-sweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate bars, organic carob powder, unsweetened carob chips, creamy or chunky organic peanut butter, Bragg's Liquid Amino Acids (better than tamari sauce), organic cold pressed olive oil, canola oil (or cafflower and others), no-stick canola cooking spray, Earth Balance vegan margarine, lemon, lemon juice, organic apple vinegar cider, Seeds & Nuts, fruits & dried fruits: sesame to make tahini, walnuts (perhaps the only nuts easily found raw), cashews, almonds and sliced ones, macadamia nuts, pecans, organic raw pumpkin seeds pepitas, flaked coconuts, fresh dates, dried figs  Herbs & spices: whole cilantro, fresh parsley, varech (kelp) powder, whole black pepper grains, whole cinnamon sticks, whole nutmeg, crushed chili flakes, fresh or dried jalapenos, dried Italian herbs (rosemary, oregano, thym, basilic...), cumin powder, garlic clove, cayenne and curry powder, masala powder, whole ginger,    Recipes or not, just wholefoods that I love 2 buy and eat: Fruits & Greens : French shallots, yams (sweet potatoes, broccoli, sugarsnaps (sweet peas), spinach, kale, carrots, beets, horseraddish. Pink grapefruit, kiwis, dried pineapple rings, fresh dates, dried figs, dired prunes, bananas, avocados, blueberry and other berries,  olives... Condiments et cetera : hot dill and garlic pickles or miniature sweet Gherkins, organic Veganaise (and sometimes Nayonaise, just because there's less fats... But Veganaise! mmm...), Dijon strong mustard, organic yellow prepared mustard, OrganicVille Natural Ketchup, some boughts homemade fancy products like fruit ketchup or jams. More stuff: green tea,  pumpkin pepitas, pistachios, organic almond butter,  organic natural peanut butter, vegan chocolate spread, unsweetened raspberry jam, So Delicious Purely Decadent dairy-free Ice Cream, Soba pastas ... and more junk food: vegan chips (potato, corn, rice, etc) and to try new products in bulk (like chili-lime or salsa soy crisps, or special flavoured nuts like spicy cashews or almonds in maple syrup or chocolate), mock meats: veggiedogs, veggieburgers, fake peperonni (and more from Yves Veggie Cuisine), vegan cheese (those who melts! be careful, some are just lactose free, not dairy free), Fontaine Santé CountryStyle Végé-Pâté, dark chocolate w/ almonds, small fruits coated in carob bars.  More 2 come...

Fuck modernity

Ranting live, listening to : Death And All His Friends, by Coldplay.  Sorry my "Enter" on my keyboard don't work anymore...  Just a little rant about life, my perception of it, at least right now. I know how most people behave, how people think. They don't think. They take their car to go to the village 1 mile away to go shopping, then take his car to go 10 meters away to another store! I've seen it with my one eyes, while I was walking and arriving before him at the same stores. I guess it's not their fault, it's how they've been raised. Too much mathematics and numbers in schools, not enough arts, yoga, meditation, creativity and physical activity. Too much bureaucracy in life, too much politics, economy, speculations, people are brainwashed, braindead by medias. Too much destruction, diseases, war. Not enough freedom, health,  peace, love, creation, nature.  Fuck modernity -- Long live to Life.

New Beginning

I feel I need to do something. I woke up at 5:30 this morning with a new passion that has been growing in my mind for some days now : cooking.
I mean I love food, I love eating since always while neglecting this interest-- because I felt it was selfish towards the poors who die from hunger in third countries ? -- or perhaps since about 2 or 3 years ago I'm more concerned about my health and my physique I began to check calories, fat, proteins, etc I don't wanna gain bodyfat so I began training too, anyway, started to be more concerned about my appearance -- another reason may be I felt Eating just for pleasure is a sin -- eventhough I'm not catholic at all neither religious.
EDIT: food posts of recipes and stuff are not on this blog but on my other blog  here .
ANYWAY, here I am, cleared of all my hypothetic sins, free to do what I like at last. Here I am this morning in front of my computer, whishing this is not only good will but that I will actually DO this. I want to do stuff because it's the only thing that really matters. One can think all he wants, it's acts that count. For instance, don't only love animals, but don't eat them for Christ sake! One can say things, it doesn't change anything and it's nothing but words. Like one can say that only one person cannot change anything in the world. WRONG. Be the change you wish to see in the world. (Gandhi said that?). It's not true that being vegan doesn't saves lives and that one person isn't enough because : one person that stops eating meat saves the life of 100 animals per year! So basically that's over 800 animals I've been saving so far in 8 years, don't tell me that's nothing. All this just by eating delicious dishes such as featured on those links to the right.

what I want to do here is to recussitate this blog (eventhough it never was really born neither really lived) and write interesting stuff about my life or things I like in life.

My interests/passions are : in this order : Me, Arts, Sports, Food (vegan ;). Of course, above all: Life, and all that it involves ::: travelling, knowing me better and the others.

ME (espescially since I'm vegan (since 2008 -- I was vegeterian for 8 years before that -- I love being vegan, I love myself since I'm vegan, I love other vegans, and I love vegan foods !! I think everybody who claim things without knowing what they're talking about should at least TRY veganism and see for themselves -- one cannot know before EXPERIENCING it.
Of course I'm passionate about other things than this. I can be passionately in love with someone -- someone else than me, but it's been quite a long time since it happened now. I love ARTS -- especially photography and cinema. And those two things are actually the only two things I'd like to work in to make some money. About arts, I love the idea of expressing emotions. I like -- even feel the need to -- express myself through CREATIVITY through arts like taking pictures, painting, making films. I have no talent for making music though I really enjoy listening to it. I need to get more serious about the act of creations -- films and photos -- to make more professional work of arts because until today it's just trials and mistakes, experiments and not even good experiments. Maybe going to University or some special intensive classes in Filmmaking or Photography wouldn't be a very bad idea to get started. Oh yeah and I like wirting too, as you can see. Writing novels, essays (on nutrition, sports, etc) and screenplays, I'd love to do that as a way to earn cash! Or just travelling with an iBook and blogging about the cities I visit, places I discover, people I meet, etc.
I also love SPORTS. It's another way of expressing oneself, but through the body. With mediation, yoga, energy passing through the body, transforming energy. Or actually really create matter (muscles -- like a sculpter) with BODYBUILDING. Visit vegan bodybuilding.com
I have a special interest in MARTIAL ARTS too. Bruce Lee. I shall begin to practice kung-fu, mui thai and other martial arts. Perhaps Judo  too, and Jeet-Kune Do.
I love especially bodyweight training because it's natural and no equipment needed... bodyweightculture.com. I have a thing for MINIMALISM, in life (simplicity, no stress-- to me simplicity is perfection) but espescially in the absence of materialism, low consumption. I want the minimum amount of objects possible. I don't want to own anything except myself and the minimal stuff -- clothes, maybe a portable computer, a car to travel -- things to be autonomous, independant, self-sufficient... free.
